‘Hacking the Health Workforce Puzzle, are you ready for the challenge?’
Due to the resounding success of the ESNO World Café 2023, we are happy to announce a next version in Milan the 5th of June 2024. This new edition will introduce an exciting twist - the collaborative pursuit of solving a puzzle. We extend our invitation to all organizations within the European Brussels health environment to join us in this interactive event. Our aim is only to engage policy officers and those often referred to as "street-policy-officers." Our objective is to collaboratively address the challenges we face, drawing inspiration from deliberations, engaging in authentic conversations, and connecting with peers to gain fresh insights. Our common goals are to maintain the healthcare sector's an attractive domain to work in, explore ways to retain professionals in practice, and develop strategies to attract newcomers and experienced staff. The issues of the ‘ESNO Declaration 2023’ will be supporting the event.
The occurrence will adopt the format of a hackathon, where participants are encouraged to showcase their problem-solving prowess by addressing a shared challenge and proposing solutions from their unique perspectives. The domains of Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will play pivotal roles in navigating the complexities of these challenges. At the end of the event, proposed solutions will be evaluated, and the most promising ones will receive an award. We emphasize that there is no one-size-fits-all solution; rather, each of us forms an integral piece of the puzzle.
Working structure:
- The start is plenary, and will set the scene with greetings from table moderators.
- Each table will have a moderator and a high-level health/ nurse CEO of a significant organisation.
- The issues will be foreseen regarding the following themes:
- Balancing clinical practice under reduced conditions with high pressure.
- Explore the gap between policy officers and clinical practitioners.
- Clinical evidence and science evidence under pressure during shortage of staff.
- The quality quest in the private and public health dichotomy.
- How to persuade managers at medium level to give nurses responsibility and authority
- Media and the nursing profession profiling: the clean and dirty part of the profession.
- How to become influential nurses and remain top level trusted.
- Inclusion of professionals in the nursing domain in innovative, technology and IT
A joined composed report as a follow up of ESNO Declaration 2024 will be present in EU Parliament.
