With a career spanning over 20 years in the public health service, I worked as a nurse and later transitioned to an executive role focusing on quality and safety. In 2014, I started my academic journey at the University of Genoa in Italy. Alongside my teaching responsibilities, I have conducted extensive research in healthcare quality and safety, specializing in Geriatric Nursing, particularly malnutrition and swallowing impairments in frail individuals. I am proud to have published more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Since 2015, I have actively collaborated with the RN4CAST International Consortium, undertaking funded national research projects that explore the relationship between nurse staffing, nurse-patient ratios, skill-mix, and missed care. I have established strong connections with international experts in this field. Over the past five years, my focus has centered on investigating the correlation between essential missed nursing care, nurse staffing ratios, patient safety, and nurses' job satisfaction. Additionally, I hold two international patents related to nutrition for swallowing impairments.

Presently, I serve as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Sciences, University of Genoa, while also holding the position of President at the Sigma International Alpha Alpha Beta Chapter in Italy.
